Monique, who more commonly goes by “Mo,” grew up in the heart of downtown Denver. Her father took her to the mountains to fish and camp from a young age. She believes this is where her connection and love for the environment began. Mo graduated from Chadron State College in 2014 with her degree in Ecology focusing on Wildlife Management and completed her Masters of Science in Management and Strategic Leadership from CSU Fort Collins in April of 2022. Mo has served the Partnership in various roles since 2019, including educator and community outreach manager. Mo is passionate removing barriers to access of the outdoor space and about creating opportunities for all people to spend time immersed in nature.

Elena is a Colorado native whose love for the outdoors began in her childhood while cooking jiffy pop over the campfire on family camping trips. After graduating from the University of Redlands in 2018 with a degree in Environmental Science Elena found herself pulled towards the environmental stewardship and education field as her passion for inspiring a love for nature among others grew. Elena comes to the Sand Creek Regional Greenway Partnership with 3 years of experience in hands-on interpretive outdoor education. Elena is passionate about providing opportunities for everyone to access nature and is excited for the opportunity to get youth and adults out onto the Greenway and connect them with the natural world outside their front doors. If she is not out on the Greenway looking for wildlife you can usually find her backpacking, trail running, doodling or cooking in her free time.

Zoe is a native East coaster who discovered her love for the outdoors later in life. A city girl at heart, her love for the outdoors began when she started going on camping trips with her friends in the summer of 2020. Since then, she has gone on multiple cross-country road trips out West and even worked in the Colorado Rockies for 5 months. As of late 2022, she decided to make the move to Denver for the proximity to the beautiful mountains, while still having the creature comforts of a big city. She brings two years of hands-on natural science education experience to the team and is excited to start developing the Community Science program at Sand Creek! When not educating or sharing her love for the natural world with her community, she can be found hiking, camping, or playing ultimate frisbee.

Sam grew up in Alabama, where he was able to fish, hike, camp, and kayak in wild places. This ultimately sparked his love and passion for the environment that will last a lifetime. Being an environmental student in the southeast brought many injustices to light that fueled Sam’s educational and professional journey. Sam found himself in Denver after obtaining a master's degree in environmental policy and management from the University of Denver. Shortly thereafter, he became involved in the outdoor equity and volunteerism field which he has worked in for 2 years. Sam is passionate about finding adaptive solutions to gaps in outdoor equity by uplifting underrepresented communities. When he is not working in the field, he loves to ski, fish, slack-line, or camp!

Midori grew up in Colorado, gaining a strong love for the natural environment by camping, hiking, and taking various road trips throughout the western U.S. with her family. After taking a field trip to NOAA in fourth grade, she became fascinated with atmospheric science and pursued various educations in natural science topics. She graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2023 with a degree in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, a degree in Geography, and a minor in Geology. Knowing the value that nature can add to people’s lives, she hopes to inspire others to seek out the natural environment, build community, and to provide opportunities for field trips like the one that inspired her. In her free time, Midori enjoys reading, playing the piano, hiking, taking nature photos, and exploring the wide variety of natural landscapes and weather Colorado has to offer.

Emma's love and connection to nature can be traced back to their childhood. Growing up in San Diego, California they had the chance to learn from some of the best in environmental conservation and sciences at the San Diego Zoo. Graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Wildlife Biology only further solidified their dedication to our planet and environmental justice. After a few jobs with California Parks and Wildlife and National Parks Service Emma found a passion for stewarding change for our natural spaces through fundraising and facilitating the distribution of resources to those who need it most. At SCRGP they have found the perfect combination of both passion and hope to help this team create an impact that is imbedded in community building and environmental justice. Outside of work, you can find them at a park with their two dogs and their partner, enjoying a good fantasy book or honestly cleaning their house because a life with four pets is messy.
