Camino de Sand Creek
Join the SCRGP and Wild Wisdom Coaching for our Camino de Sand Creek! The final installment of our Camino de Sand Creek walking series, this will be a long-distance walk along the entirety of the Sand Creek Greenway (13.1 miles). Throughout this series we will explore "pilgrimage" as a container for personal growth. Walking long distances, a physically challenging experience, is known to enhance a deepening in self-awareness as one intentionally moves through a personal growth challenge or opportunity. On pilgrimage, we slow down, reflect, and engage in a purposeful journey to reignite our best version of ourselves so we can offer our gifts to our community.
Certified Rite of Passage facilitator and long-time member of Walk2Connect, Maria Rosa Galter will offer a bilingual (Spanish/English) guided pilgrimage experience along the Greenway to women, and folks who identify as women, on a personal growth journey. Through this experience, women will have the opportunity to build community, and be able to transform a challenge, claim a new identity, or mark and celebrate a milestone on their personal path to their best and highest self.
We encourage folks to sign up for the entire walking series (4 segment walks, one long-distance walk, & a community connection virtual call) but understand that may not be a possibility for all. We would love to have you join us for however many programs you can make. In order to participate in the program we are asking folks to sign up for at least two segment walks, one community connection call, and the long distance walk. For anyone interested in the program, we will be hosting an virtual informational session on Monday June 12th from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Register for the informational session here.
A Night on the Greenway 2023
Celebrate Wilderness in the City
A Night on the Greenway is the Sand Creek Regional Greenway Partnership’s only in-person fundraising event. Each year, friends of the Sand Creek Regional Greenway gather on, or very near to, the Greenway to celebrate our collective efforts to create equitable outdoor access, foster environmental stewardship, and promote wellness in our communities.
This year, attendees will be treated to an unforgettable event at the beautiful Central Park Pavilion, a short five-minute bike ride to the Greenway. Attendees will indulge in curated hors d'oeuvres from Chef Baggao of ADOBO and event-themed drinks utilizing r.Cups environmentally friendly reusable cup system.
A Night on the Greenway promises to offer an evening filled with captivating performances from local musicians, a cultural dance group, and exciting stories from a local Native American storyteller, helping us all feel more connected to the land that does so much for us.
Plan for exciting up-close encounters with birds of prey, an exclusive sneak peek of the newest mural to be installed on the Greenway in September, and an array of fantastic silent auction items.
