Weather to Cancel March 2 Volunteer Day

February 27, 2019

With very cold temperatures and snow forecast for the next few days, we’re cancelling our volunteer work day scheduled for this Saturday, March 2. We want our volunteers to have a great (and safe) experience, and snow would hamper our ability to remove invasive species at the Wetland Park. Our partners at Commerce City Parks and Recreation Department confirm that many of their outdoor events scheduled for Saturday will be cancelled as well.

We’ll get the word out via email to our friends and volunteers in the next few days, but wanted to post this notice right away. If you were planning to join us on Saturday, THANK YOU, and stay tuned for news on a revised schedule for our volunteer efforts.

Our next volunteer work day is Saturday, April 6 in Aurora!

Take Action!

Sand Creek Regional Greenway Partnership

About the Greenway

The Sand Creek Regional Greenway is a jewel in the necklace of trails that has made Denver a national model for linked trail systems.

This 14-mile public greenway connects the High Line Canal in Aurora, Colorado with the South Platte River Greenway in Commerce City. Along the way, it passes through northeast Denver and the new Stapleton community.

The Sand Creek Regional Greenway is open every day from dawn until dusk. Runners, walkers, nature viewers, horseback riders, and leashed dogs are encouraged to enjoy the trail. We invite you to become acquainted with our wilderness in the city.
