Volunteer Work Days!

January 29, 2021
Volunteers jumping for joy in Aurora!

We LOVE the volunteers who’ve been braving winter weather to clean up the Greenway! We had 8 volunteers cleaning up the area around Star K Ranch on Sunday, December 20; a neighborhood-organized effort involving 28 volunteers from the Central Park area of the Greenway on Monday, January 18; 7 volunteers cleaning up the area around Sable in Aurora on Saturday, January 23. So much great work was done, and all trail users benefit from volunteer efforts.

THANK YOU, thank you, everyone!

We want volunteers to keep in mind that we are working under city public health policies which limits the number of folks for volunteer days. If you sign up and cannot attend the volunteer day, please let us know so we can give our “wait list” volunteers time to join us! Contact Mo at mfair (at) sandcreekgreenway (dot) org.

We’ll be adding more dates, but currently our scheduled volunteer days are:

March 6th 10am to Noon in Commerce City, location TBD

April 3rd, 10 am to Noon in Denver, location TBD

May 1 10am to Noon, in Aurora, location TBD

About the Greenway

The Sand Creek Regional Greenway is a jewel in the necklace of trails that has made Denver a national model for linked trail systems.

This 14-mile public greenway connects the High Line Canal in Aurora, Colorado with the South Platte River Greenway in Commerce City. Along the way, it passes through northeast Denver and the new Stapleton community.

The Sand Creek Regional Greenway is open every day from dawn until dusk. Runners, walkers, nature viewers, horseback riders, and leashed dogs are encouraged to enjoy the trail. We invite you to become acquainted with our wilderness in the city.
