Volunteer Appreciation Picnic & Caroline’s Going-Away Party

May 17, 2013

We hope that you will join us for our annual Volunteer Appreciation Picnic on Saturday, June 1st at the Commerce City Wetlands Park. The picnic will also be a “Bon Voyage” party for our volunteer coordinator, Caroline Fry, who will be leaving our organization in June. Come wish her well and meet our new volunteer coordinator, Katie Lampe! Please RSVP by clicking here.

The picnic will feature free food, games, and a prize giveaway. Prizes will include gym memberships, rounds of golf, zoo passes, and more! All food for the picnic will be provided by our organization, and a vegetarian option will be available.

The morning will start at 9 a.m.with our monthly community NPET volunteer event. Meet in the parking lot of the Commerce City Wetlands Park (directions below) at 9 am. We will work until noon painting cottonwoods with a combination of paint and sand to protect them from beavers, as well as doing some trash clean-up. Please wear clothes that you do not mind getting paint on!

For more information, please contact Caroline Fry at (303) 468-3262. We hope to see you there!

Directions to the Commerce City Wetlands Park are as follows: Go to the intersection of E. 52nd Avenue and Ivy Street in Commerce City. Turn onto E. 52nd Avenue, and this will dead-end into a parking lot in a few hundred feet. Click here for a Google map of this area.

Sand Creek Regional Greenway Partnership

About the Greenway

The Sand Creek Regional Greenway is a jewel in the necklace of trails that has made Denver a national model for linked trail systems.

This 14-mile public greenway connects the High Line Canal in Aurora, Colorado with the South Platte River Greenway in Commerce City. Along the way, it passes through northeast Denver and the new Stapleton community.

The Sand Creek Regional Greenway is open every day from dawn until dusk. Runners, walkers, nature viewers, horseback riders, and leashed dogs are encouraged to enjoy the trail. We invite you to become acquainted with our wilderness in the city.
