Become a friend of the Sand Creek Regional Greenway and support the FUTURE FUND today!

In 2020, we celebrated our 20th year as a 501 c 3 nonprofit and installed the Greenway’s very first mural at the Smith Road Trailhead in Denver with a tremendous amount of support from dedicated poeple like YOU!

In 2022, we will install a second mural, along the newly coined Sand Creek Art Walk. We will also install wayfinding signs along all 13-miles of the trail along with interpretive signage. 2022 will also bring a second pollinator garden dedicated to increasing biodiversity on the trail, increased community engagement opportunities to help inform future decision making, and more public programming and education.

All of this work can only be accomplished through support like yours! With your gift support we’re able to restore and preserve natural species along Sand Creek, promote volunteerism, provide environmental education through outreach to kids, and work on trail improvement.

The Future Fund will provide flexible resources to cover funding gaps for our education and volunteer programming, habitat restoration work, trail improvement projects and funds to increase our organization’s impact.

About the Greenway

The Sand Creek Regional Greenway is a jewel in the necklace of trails that has made Denver a national model for linked trail systems.

This 14-mile public greenway connects the High Line Canal in Aurora, Colorado with the South Platte River Greenway in Commerce City. Along the way, it passes through northeast Denver and the new Stapleton community.

The Sand Creek Regional Greenway is open every day from dawn until dusk. Runners, walkers, nature viewers, horseback riders, and leashed dogs are encouraged to enjoy the trail. We invite you to become acquainted with our wilderness in the city.
