The South Platte Greenway is a 28-mile paved trail that runs through downtown Denver. The South Platte Greenway connects to the Sand Creek Regional Greenway near the intersection of 64th Avenue and York Street in Commerce City.
The High Line Canal Trail is 66 miles long, and is paved in Aurora and Denver (unpaved south of Denver). The High Line Canal Trail currently comes within 1/2 mile of connecting to the Sand Creek Regional Greenway in Aurora. To access the High Line Canal from the Sand Creek Regional Greenway, start where the Sand Creek Regional Greenway trail dead-ends at Colfax Avenue. Do not cross Colfax- stay on the north side of the street. Head west on Colfax for approximately 1/2 mile, and the High Line Canal Trail will intersect the street.
