Finding the Greenway

It's easy to get to Sand Creek Regional Greenway using off-street trails. We connect with the Platte River Greenway on the west and the High Line Canal on the east.

But if you're coming from farther away, you can drive and park at six locations along the nearly 14-mile Sand Creek Greenway. More trailheads will be developed in the next five years.

Commerce City

Platte River: Park at the Platte River Greenway trailhead on York Avenue near 60th, just south of I-270. Map...

Dahlia: Park at the trailhead at Sand Creek Drive and Dahlia, just east of 56th and Vasquez near the intersection of Vasquez and I-270. Map...

Denver

Smith Road: Park at the temporary trailhead on Smith Road, approximately a mile west of the intersection of Smith Road and Havana Street. Map...

Bluff Lake: If there is not an event or class going on, park at the Bluff Lake Nature Center on Havana Street where Havana becomes Moline Street. Map...

Aurora

Morris Heights: Access Sand Creek Regional Greenway from the Morris Heights neighborhood at East 30th Avenue and Uvalda Street. Map...

Star K Ranch and Morrison Nature Center: Park at Star K Open Space Park, just off Smith Road and Laredo, and take the trail through Star K Ranch to the Sand Creek Regional Greenway.

To get there by driving take I-70 to Chambers Road, then south to Smith Road. Turn east on Smith Road to Laredo. There's a sign for Emil-Lene's Sirloin House at the corner. Turn right on Laredo and you'll see the nature center straight ahead.

To get there on the Greenway ride or hike to the section between Chambers and Airport Blvd. You'll see a sign about midway directing you to Star K Ranch and the nature center.
